The System: Success vs Competition

Systems are put in place to create a specific outcome. I’m normally a fan of systems. But, not so much in this case. The system that I am referring to, is set up to make people appear to be successful, while at the same time removing the competitive element. The day they gave out a 10th place trophy, they told the 10th place participant that it’s ok not to do much work because it will still appear that I’m a winner, and they told the 1st place participant that it’s ok not to do much work because look, it will still appear that I’m a winner. One system, two impacts. Are you ready to be unprepared?
