How much do you invest in the things that you want to do? Let me be a little clearer, how much of yourself, do you invest into things that YOU want to do? Not things that you have to do, but things that you just want to do. You have to go to school. Even if you have to walk, get there. There is no extra reward in that. You say you want to be a lawyer. Well, they are offering extracurricular clubs after school and on the weekends. No, you don't have a ride. No, you don't have money for the bus. And guess what, you don't have to go. But there is a reward in finding a way to get there. There is a reward in walking the 3 miles to get there, knowing you have to walk 3 miles back home. The reward is hunger. You are showing a desire and an internal competitive spirit to go after what you want. The reward is an extra focus while you're there because with that sacrifice of walking, you will not waste a moment of time. The reward is a demonstration in how much you really care about this. About becoming a lawyer. The value of this type of investing in yourself develop life-long characteristics. They become the two feet you stand on every time there is something out there you want. All because, at a young age, you learned the value of having Skin in the Game! Lock In!
